Role: Commercial Lead – Projects and Services

Amotech Africa is recruiting a Commercial Lead – Projects & Services who will be responsible for driving business growth, commercial performance, and customer engagement within the projects and services Department. The Commercial Lead will play a pivotal role in maintaining a sustainable project pipeline, ensuring profitability, and upholding quality and compliance standards in alignment with the company’s strategic direction.


Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or a related technical qualification.
  2. Qualification in Project Management is an added advantage.
  3. Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in commercial or project management within the electrical, industrial, or energy services sector.
  4. Proven record in business development, tendering, contract negotiation, and project delivery.
  5. Experience with managing projects, working with SLAs, maintenance contracts, and technical services (testing and commisioning, Partial dischage etc.).
  6. Demonstrated success in client relationship management and revenue growth.
  7. Experience with electrical systems, testing equipment, and protection schemes (advantageous).
  8. Proficiency in CRM tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new business opportunities in Engineering projects and services that  Amotech offers.
  2. Developing and maintain a healthy pipeline of projects aligned with departmental diversification and revenue goals.
  3. Leading the development and renewal of SLAs and maintenance agreements for all services offered by Amotech Africa.
  4. Leading the bid and proposal process — coordinating with technical teams for accurate scoping, costing, and risk evaluation
  5. Promoting and growing the company’s project and service offering to ensure market visibility and technical leadership.
  6. Developing commercial strategies to enter new markets or service lines (e.g., renewable energy, data centers, utilities).
  7. Establishing and nurturing relationships with key clients, EPC contractors, and consultants to position the company as a preferred technical partner across the region.
  8. Monitoring project financials — revenue forecasts, margins, and cash flow for projects and services
  9. Working closely with the Technical Lead – Projects & Services to ensure project proposals and delivery meet client expectations and technical standards.
  10. Executing projects and services aligned with skillset and area of expertise ( e.g testing and commissioning services)
  11. Mentoring junior engineers and commercial staff in tendering, client engagement, and commercial documentation
  12. Contributing to departmental budgeting, forecasting, and strategic business execution.
  13. Ensuring compliance with company, and environmental management systems.
